 Canton Ohio is located in Northeastern Ohio about one hour south of Cleveland and 2 hours north of Columbus. A short distance south from Akron on interstate 77 will put you in the middle of the city. A middle sized midwestern town, Canton Ohio provides its residents with the many benefits of a large city while maintaining the smaller town charm. Many diverse neighborhoods make this a unique place to call home.   Hills and Dales Village was voted Nationally as one of the top ten retirement communities in the Nation. Avondale, Ridgewood and Harter Heights are just a few of the smaller neighborhoods in and around Canton. A wonderful scholarship program is available from the city in cooperation with many colleges so that each child graduating from the Canton City School system has the opportunity to enroll in college totally FREE.    

 Many beautiful Park and Green spaces along with world-class Hospitals and five area Universities only add to the delight of living and working in a place called Canton.

 A vibrant arts community is also housed in Canton for residents to experience art and culture from around the world. The Canton Symphony Orchestra, Canton Ballet and the Canton Museum of Art all call Canton home.

 Canton is the birthplace of American professional football and calls many national landmarks its home such as the National NFL Pro Football Hall of Fame, the William McKinley Presidential Library/National Monument, and the National First Ladies Library

and Research Center.

 Many notable people have called Canton their home including famous Athletics, Pulitzer Winners, Statesman, Entrepreneurs, and those from the Stage and Music. You may recognize a few of these famous people: William McKinley, Jim Thorpe, Thurman Manson, Renee Powell, Dave Wottle, Ron Harris, Phil Hubbard, Chris Spielman, Dan Dierdorf, Marion Motley. Jack Parr. Macy Gray, and The O’Jays. Thomas Edison married a Canton native and conducted many of his experiments in the Canton area while living here with his wife. As a side note, it has been said that “Frankenstein” is buried in a Canton Cemetery.
